We care about your success!
Here's what you need to do to be successful in your WashingtonOnline classes:
1. Go to the WashingtonOnline web site at http://www.waol.org
2. Make note of the WAOL calendar dates and Classroom Open dates. This is very important, since the WAOL dates may be different than the quarter dates for [insert college name here]
3. Click on "Get Started" and read all of the information.
4. If it is past the "Classroom Open" date shown on the "Home" page, you can access your classroom. Follow the Get Started steps to log in, and make sure that you write down your User ID and Password in a safe place.
5. Order your books early. When you order your books online, they can take more than a week to arrive. Make sure you order them so they arrive before your class begins. Check with the [insert college name] bookstore at [insert college bookstore phone number and URL] to see if your books will be available there, or order your books online at the WashingtonOnline bookstore.
6. Get access to a computer and an e-mail address. If you don't have access to a computer with Internet access, campus computers are available at [insert location of campus computer labs and time availability].
7. Go to class! It is very easy to get behind in an online class because there's no one there to remind you to go to class. If you log in at least once a day, you'll have a much better chance at success. WashingtonOnline classes are not self-paced. You need to attend class the first day, participate as required and turn in your assignments on time.
8. For Financial Aid signatures, contact [insert college financial aid contact name, email address and phone number]
9. Ask for help. Your instructor can help you with course content and assignment-related questions. The friendly staff at WashingtonOnline is available to help you with your student account, services, and other non-technical issues - click on the "Help" button on the WashingtonOnline site for more information.
10. For other questions, contact [insert college contact name here] at [phone number] or [e-mail], or stop by [office contact information].
