Basic Skills New Faculty Orientation Course
The New Teacher Orientation is a five-week online course. The course provides an overview of services within the system, the Washington State Adult Learning Standards, Goal Setting, EFF, and useful resources in the field. In addition, this is an excellent opportunity for newer teachers to develop a cohort with each other in order to share ideas about adult education practices, learn about different program practices, and share teaching experiences and strategies. The course will be offered annually in the fall and winter quarter if needed. Prior experience with ANGEL is not required.
Target Audience: ABE, ESL, GED, Corrections, Family Literacy, WorkFirst and EL Civics instructors who have entered the field of adult education in the last three years or are new to the Washington adult basic education system.
